In-Person Dog 1
In-Person classes in times of COVID:
EVEN WITH PARTS OF CALIFORNIA RE-OPENING, WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SPRING TO OFFER OUR IN-PERSON/OUTDOOR CLASSES. WE UPDATE OUR WEBSITE REGULARLY. CHECK BACK FOR MORE INFORMATION!
The following applies to when we can offer in-person classes and is for information only:
Your DOG1 class will be held in-person, in an outdoor setting. We follow local, state and county guidelines/protocol to ensure safety for all.
I have a puppy over 18 weeks; is this the class for me?
- Basic Obedience – sit, down, stay, come, leash skills
- Manners – jumping, don’t touch, drop it, calm down
- Distraction Skills – dog begins to learn how to focus and work in a group setting
- All Things Dog – common behavior problems are discussed every class
- Detailed homework and emailed handouts after each class
Is this class for you?
- Is your dog reactive, such as jumping, pulling, barking and whining to try to play with dogs while on leash, yet friendly off leash? Not sure if they will settle down for an in-person class? If yes, we suggest taking our 'FROLIC OR FIGHT' class to help assess their suitability for a group DOG1 class. Chock full of information on how to "read" your dog's body language and learn to identify healthy dog play styles vs. problematic behaviors! Even if your dog is friendly OFF leash, on leash reactivity is not appropriate for an in-person group class setting.

- Is your dog shy and fearful around other dogs? Are you unsure if your dog will be too stressed attending an in-person class? If yes, we suggest our virtual 'SHY OR FEARFUL' class. Small class size with emphasis on building your dog's confidence and learning basic manners and obedience!
